QuakeCon at Home sees the long-running event make its digital return. Taking place over the weekend of August 20-22 (which is like, next week somehow) the full QuakeCon has been unveiled and there looks to be a very apt announcement coming.
Namely the
Celebrating 25 Years of Quake with id Software and Machine Games panel at 4:05am AEST August 20 hinting at something new in addition to looking at the "the impact and legacy of the original Quake on its 25th anniversary".
MachineGames, known for the recent
Wolfenstein reboot and the upcoming
Indiana Jones game currently in development, only has a small connection to the original
Quake. That being a
Dimensions of Past episode created by the studio to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Quake.
So then, is this hinting at something new and Quake-related from MachineGames? Well, it sounds like it. And we're hoping it's more than a new map pack. A remaster or remake would be awesome. Especially if it was being built using id Tech 6.
In addition to tournaments and livestreams -- there's a very cool
Fallout 76 – Playing with UFC Middleweight Rob Whittaker ANZ stream 2:30pm on August 20 AEST) -- QuakeCon will also be the place to get the latest on all things
Bethesda. Sadly, it doesn't look like there's be any new
Starfield info - but there's plenty of
Deathloop,
DOOM Eternal,
Quake,
Fallout 76, and
The Elder Scrolls Online.
Here are the dates and times for when all of the big stuff is happening.
