With 12 planets to explore, a choice-driven story, fully voiced characters, crafting, factions to join, bounty hunting, side quests, and more... Star Wars Open Worlds sits pretty high up on the ambitious Fallout New Vegas mod list. And thanks to a new showcase video there's certainly a lot to get excited about.
Namely because we get to see a large number of locales, characters, and vehicles -- and it's all very Star Wars. Timeline-wise Star Wars Open Worlds is set during the early days of the Galactic Empire.
We are uprooted from our home and thrown into this galaxy far, far away for the first time, experiencing it from an outsider's perspective. Abducted by slavers and recovering from the initial shock we are left with no choice but to join a small crew planning an escape from captivity, all the while the rising tide of the newly founded galactic empire sweeps across the galaxy!
Embark on an engaging choice-driven story which will take you across different planets in the Star Wars universe during the very early years of the galactic empire and their push for supremacy.
According to the team, which is currently listed as two people (Tank_Girl444 - Developer, and Karim Najib - Designer & Mentor) there will be 12 planets to explore and four different paths to choose. Naturally two of those are the light and dark side of the Force. With the other two being 'Gray' and 'Sandbox' we're assuming one of these will be the option to join the Empire, as seen in the showcase video.
Based on the description and Fallout roots, this is very much a KOTOR meets New Vegas like deal. As per the mod site for the project a demo is on the cards and could arrive sometime this year. But, as with any ambitious Fallout mod project, this one could be in development for quite some time.
