But it's in the "very early planning stages" of the process, so we've probably got a bit of a wait ahead as the team behind the spiritual successor to
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is still working on bringing new stuff to the current game.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night had something of a journey too, as several delays meant that in the end the final game was able to live up to its initial promise.
As per our review, it's "a slow burn that turns into the warmest of genre embraces", and "its dedication to and the evolution of the formula that people fell in love with across several Castlevania games is commendable".
So yeah, we're keen to see a sequel. The good thing is, the first game's delays were mostly related to the look and feel and the team coming to terms with a modern 3D engine. With that stuff sorted, and subsequent patches for the game bringing the console versions up to par with the PC release, development on the sequel should be a smooth(er) process.
