In the PC gaming space the UltraWide display is akin to an awakening, one of those deals where once you experience the 21:9 aspect ratio you kind of feel bad for all of the 16:9 displays and TVs out there. For us it all started when we reviewed the original
Acer Predator X34 back in 2017 -- a display that impresses to this day. So yeah, with the announcement of the new competitive focused
Acer Predator X38 S -- we're on board.
Predator X38 S
Sporting a 2300R curve and a resolution of 3840x1600, plus VESA DisplayHDR 600 Certification, DCI-P3 98% wide colour, a 175 Hz refresh rate with a 0.3 ms grey-to-grey response -- it's something of a dream display situation. Throw in a vibrant IPS panel, NVIDIA Reflex Latency Analyzer, and NVIDIA G-SYNC ULTIMATE and you get the best of both worlds. Unmatched UltraWide cinematic immersion, and the competitive edge for modern competitive titles like
Rainbow Six Siege,
Apex Legends, and
Overwatch.

The Predator X38 S is set to launch in Australia this September and carries an RRP of $2,999 AUD.
Predator CG437K S
This is not to say that 16:9 displays are for chumps, that's definitely not the case. In fact Acer is making a strong argument for the now standard aspect ration with the new
Predator CG437K S a massive 42.5-inch 4K gaming monitor that's NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible and supports HDMI 2.1. Which means it can support modern consoles like the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. The icing on the cake though is that with its 144 Hz refresh rate and low-response times and VESA DisplayHDR 1000 (which is... yeah, bright), this thing is built for high-end gaming.
The Predator CG437K S is set to arrive in Australia this November with a RRP of $1,999 AUD.
Predator X28
Finally we have the Predator X28 which ups the more common 27-inch screen size to 28-inch. Being smaller than the above two beasts doesn't change the picture though, here you're getting a pristine 3840x2160 IPS display with VESA DisplayHDR400 and excellent colour accuracy. Throw in NVIDIA G-SYNC and NVIDIA Reflex Latency Analyzer and you've got another best-case scenario for competitive gaming and just regular day-to-day use. Or playing single-player jams like the recent PC debut off Days Gone. Or checking out
DOOM Eternal's upcoming RTX and DLSS patch. The Predator X28 is TÜV Rheinland Eyesafe certified too, so youre eyes will feel like a well-maintained nord with Valhalla vision. Or something.
The Predatox X28 drops in October with an RRP of $1,699 AUD.
