With the new PvE mode set to deliver a rogue-lite co-opp experience that pits players against Albion... and the undead. Playable solo or online with up-to four players the zombie mode for Watch Dogs: Legion also carries the fun title Legion of the Dead.

IGN had the exclusive reveal of the new mode which surprisingly is ready to roll out and arrive as part of Title Update 4.5 this week. The below gameplay video offers up a look at the mode, with over 20-minutes of Alpha gameplay.

As per the footage the mode plays into the "play as anyone" aspect of Watch Dogs, including access to both gadgets and firearms. Though with zombies, no doubt the latter will be super important due to the simplicity of a well-aimed head-shot.

Speaking with IGN, Watch Dogs: Legion online director Jean-Pascal Cambiotti talked about the inspiration behind the mode. "We were inspired by the multiple portrayals of zombies across popular culture, and in the game, we made the decision to make zombies slower but lethal," Jean-Pascal said. "They can be used as a gameplay tool to create chaos by luring them into fortified Albion layouts while you sneak in and save your precious ammo for another fight."

He also notes that community feedback will help shape the mode and the rogue-lite approach.
