In what's something of a flex, publishing giant
Take-Two recently made it known that it plans to release a whopping 62 games between now and the end of the 2024 fiscal year. From big budget project to smaller efforts, no doubt the publisher isn't showing any signs of slowing down its output. Interestingly the fiscal year ending in April 2022 will see the arrival of two new franchises in videogame form, one of which is coming from
Borderlands studio
Gearbox.
The reveal came during a financial earnings call, pointing to an impending announcement that might arrive as a part of
Summer Game Fest 2021 next month -- where Take-Two is listed as a partner.
As to what the game might be, that's anyone's guess. But coming from Gearbox, odds are there'll be some shooting of some kind. In a response to query on Twitter Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford did his responding to anyone and everyone thing by noting that the mysterious new game has been in development for years. So yeah, it could be something pretty big for both the studio and publisher.
