Return to Rapture, from Wim Buytaert, is an eight-part story that takes the underwater setting of BioShock and re-imagines it as a setting for the Combine to make a move into the world of Andrew Ryan. It's a pretty impressive looking mod, as it takes assets from both BioShock and Half-Life: Alyx and Combine(s) them to create a new VR campaign.

Here's the trailer.

The Combine have discovered the whereabouts of Rapture. Rumors exist that the suitcase of Andrew Ryan has yet to be found. Within it are the secrets to ADAM and the plasmids. The quest for this artefact is not archeology, it's a race against evil. If it is captured by the Combine the armies of darkness will march all over the face of the earth.

As per above the Half-Life meets BioShock blend looks great, with a mix of Half-Life: Alyx's combat set in the iconic location of Rapture. But the cross-over is more than a simple visual change as you'll be able to pick-up audio diaries and interact with vending machines and other BioShock elements -- in VR. Again, it's an impressive mod and you can check it out now via the Steam Workshop page.
