Another day another mind-blowing stat for the success story that is Valheim -- the Early Access survival hit that pits players in the midst of Viking myth. Developer Iron Gate made the announcement via Steam -- that is the game hitting the 5 million player count after one month of release -- and hinted that it will have more to share re the Valheim 2021 Roadmap soon.

Also it's worth noting that Valheim is being developed by a five-person team, yeah, so that's "one person per million sales" as per Iron Gate's update.

"We watch with pride and excitement, and struggle to find the right words to express our gratitude to you, the community," writes Iron Gate. "Exciting new milestones lie ahead, and we for one cannot wait to show you more of the game as we journey through our 2021 Roadmap."

In terms of what's coming there are four major updates in the works, The first, called 'Hearth and Home' will focus on the building aspects of the game. 'Cult of the Wolf' will follow, and that will focus on exploration and combat including potential biome changes. After that is 'Ships and the Sea' which naturally is all about the nautical side and then 'Mistlands' which will introduce a brand-new space and new bosses too. And this is all in addition to regular updates and patches.

It's just a small touch, but one of many that fill that game with ever-rewarding personality.
