Outriders, the new action-RPG shooter from Square Enix and development studio People Can Fly, recently got its release date pushed back to April 1 to allow the Polish-based studio to add more polish. That said a playable demo is set to hit all platforms on February 25. Today comes a deep dive into the PC version of the game.

With Outriders set to scale remarkable well across a wide range of hardware - with the team noting that if you've bought a new rig in a past 6 years, you'll be fine. As per the hardware requirements below the studio is aiming for a smooth 60-fps.

Weirdly though GPU and CPU 4K hardware still looks to be a matter of optimisation. But, as per the PC Spotlight video below we learn that Outriders will support cutting-edge features on PC - including NVIDIA DLSS and NVIDIA Ansel for its photo mode. Plus, UltraWide monitor support and a range of settings to tweak. Seeing it all running at 60-fps is great too.

About a year ago we we went hands on with an early build in Warsaw, and walked away impressed with the focus on RPG mechanics and progression over "games as a service" design. Sure, there's the obligatory Destiny comparison to make -- but this also has shades of Mass Effect and even Mad Max. As a co-op title Outriders will support full cross-play on day one too -- across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC (Steam & Epic).
