Originally slated to be a launch title for the Xbox Series X, the moody horror of The Medium recently saw a delay to December 10 - no doubt to further polish the experience in the current 2020 climate. Over the weekend we got word that developer Bloober Team has pushed the date back to January 28, 2021 - due to the ongoing global pandemic and "the current schedule of other games on the market".

Which no doubt is a nod to Cyberpunk 2077, aka the biggest single videogame release for 2020, currently on track for a December 10 release. Which was the planned launch date for The Medium ahead of this new delay.

"Bloober Team remains committed to delivering our biggest, most ambitious, fear-inducing experience to date," the statement notes. "The additional development time will allow us to add further polish, ensuring we deliver our innovative, genre-pushing vision of interactive psychological horror. Rest assured, the delay will not stop us sharing information with you, and you can expect us to unravel a few more layers of The Medium's great mystery soon."

As mentioned before, with its light/dark world setup (ala SNES Zelda or Metroid Prime 2) that you can visit and explore simultaneously, The Medium is one of many third-party titles for Microsoft's next-gen console we're really keen to play.
