Well, the thing we didn't think would happen again has happened.
CD Projekt Red has delayed the release of
Cyberpunk 2077 to December 10 on all platforms. The team notes that shipping the game across Xbox One, PS4, PC, in addition to ensuring next-gen compatibility hasn't been easy whilst working from home and prepping the launch day patch.
"Since Cyberpunk 2077 evolved towards almost being a next-gen title somewhere along the way," CD Projekt writes. "We need to make sure everything works well and every version runs smoothly."
So yeah, more time needed. And for those wondering how it got delayed after recently 'going gold' - this is all about that chunky Day One Patch. With the team noting that an extra 21 days can make all the difference, adding, "this is the time period we under-calculated."
