With its H. R. Giger inspired art style and a look that is Alien meets Prometheus but even more horrific and organic, today we've received our best look at the upcoming first-person sci-fi horror Scorn yet. In an extended gameplay presentation, running on Xbox Series X hardware, it's all, well, a little unsettling.

From the sound-design to the animation to the organic weapons that feature cool but borderline disgusting reload animations - this will be one for the late-night headphone crowd. Check it out.

Scorn is an atmospheric first-person horror adventure game set in a nightmarish universe of odd forms and somber tapestry. It is designed around the idea of “being thrown into the world”. Isolated and lost inside this dream-like world, you will explore different interconnected regions in a non-linear fashion.

Scorn is a third-party Xbox exclusive currently in development for Windows PC and the Xbox Series X. In terms of feel the slow and measured pace here mixed with exploration is impressively creepy and detailed, full of unsettling imagery and a unique mood. Though on that front I'm not sure just how much I could take playing this at night - I'll try though.
