SEGA is currently celebrating its 60th anniversary, where alongside deals, interviews, and a look back a decades of gaming (accessible via the anniversary website) - four free games are being added to Steam. Including Streets Of Kamurocho, a Streets of Rage meets Yakuza mash-up, and a long-lost project by SEGA Studios Australia called Golden Axed: A Cancelled Prototype.
Which is a single-level Golden Axe Reborn prototype that was apparently cancelled. Local developer @SanatanaMishra took to Twitter to confirm that "this was roughly two weeks work and our weird bosses wouldn’t let us spend more than a day on combat design". So yeah, it might be a little rough around the edges.
These titles will only be available for a single day starting tomorrow with Relic's Armor of Heroes. A top down four-player multiplayer tank battler with multiple game modes.
Streets of Rage mash-up Streets Of Kamurocho is next up, with the fitting description, "The death of the Tojo Clan’s Third Chairman has plunged the organization into chaos. The violence spreads to the streets, and only Kazuma Kiryu and Goro Majima can put an end to the bloodshed!"
Steam said Sonic 2 was free to keep and gave me the whole Megadrive Collection for free when I added it to my library, not sure if it will be free to keep but it still says the bundle is $10. Anyway get on it!
My mistake, it installs the Megadrive Collection as the shell to play the one game, the rest of the games will cost $10 which is a pretty good deal TBH :)
