With the weird thing being that these videos were made available on Facebook Blueprint before being taken down, so we can chalk these up to being "official leaks". But the standalone Oculus Quest 2 VR headset looks to be Facebook and Oculus's best effort to date. Wireless VR with a near-4K image, plus PC connectivity for high-end VR.

Via USB-C. Basically, the best of both worlds. And when coupled with the flawless inside-out tracking and excellent Oculus Touch controllers (as seen in the original Quest and the Oculus Rift S) -- this is easily the most exciting VR-kit we've seen in a while.

Here are some of the specs:

Almost 2K pixels per eye (50% more than the original Quest)
6GB of RAM for more high-end wireless VR
Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 processor
64GB or 256GB of internal storage
Improved controller ergonomics

For a closer look, here are the videos.

The only thing missing -- specs-wise -- is confirmation on the refresh rate. If that's also getting a bump over the original Quest and the Rift S, depending on the price-point, this could easily become the most versatile and impressive VR headset to date.

The official reveal is happening on Thursday (ANZ time) as part of the latest Facebook Connect event.
