Although the description doesn't say anything about PlayStation 5 dates or pricing, that's all but a guarantee. Especially after the recent Xbox Series S and X launch reveal. So yeah, the big PlayStation 5 showcase event is scheduled for Thursday, September 17 at 6am AEST.

With the description stating that it will provide "one more look at some of the great games coming to PS5 at launch (and beyond!)", it's an approach that makes sense.

Sony is set to debut its new console with Spider-Man Miles Morales, plus the impressive Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart coming during the "launch window". Not to mention the third-party efforts that will arrive on day one (which this event should confirm). And then there's Horizon Forbidden West and whatever else is slowly cooking behind the scenes. The "and beyond" is interesting in that we might get a surprise Worldwide Studios teaser. God of War would go down a treat.

As per Sid Shuman, Senior Director, SIE Content, "Our next digital showcase will weigh in at around 40 minutes, and feature updates on the latest titles from Worldwide Studios and our world-class development partners."

Which is a lot of time to dive into the launch line-up.

And then close with date and pricing for both the PlayStation 5 and the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition. Stay tuned.
