UPDATE:
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Founders Edition Stock is Coming to Australia After All
Which means the stylish new look and revolutionary dual-fan Founder's Edition cooling of the
NVIDIA Geforce RTX 3090,
RTX 3080, and
RTX 3070 will not be made available to Australia at launch -- even though local pricing was added to the official site shortly after the big reveal. So yeah, as old Obi Wan would say, "I just totes got the vibe that a bunch of peeps in Australia just got some pretty bad news". But then Han is all like, "Obes, relax dude, a tonne of partner cards are still coming".
But hey, it's still a bummer that we wont be able to get one of these.
As reported by
Kotaku Australia, the lack of Founders still means that RTX 30 series partner cards are coming to our shores across a wide range of brands like ASUS, GIGABYTE, MSI, GALAX, ZOTAC, and many more.
Including the
MSI GeForce RTX 3080 GAMING X TRIO 10G.
And the
PNY XLR8 Gaming GeForce RTX 3080.
Both due to launch around September 17 -- barring shipping delays. Plus many more RTX 3080, 3090, and 3070 models set to hit storefronts in lil' ol' Straya.
So yeah, no local FE editions. It sucks, but it probably means that the curse of 2020 has even gone so far as to mess with NVIDIA's RTX 30 series launch, what with manufacturing pointing to a very busy quarter where things like an RTX 3080 and a PlayStation 5 might be super hard to get.
