With a new report indicating that the
Mass Effect Trilogy --
BioWare's epic sci-fi trilogy from the
Xbox 360 era -- was on track for an October reveal and late October release. The word comes from
GamesBeat editor Jeff Grubb who said exactly that in a recent podcast (
via VGC), "I know the plan for sure was to announce it in early October, release in later in October."
“I know it’s real," Jeff adds. "I’ve seen more than enough evidence to know it’s real, but it’s still 2020 and they haven’t announced it yet." With that statement pointing to a potential delay due to the whole 2020 being 2020 thing. He notes that the Mass Effect Trilogy, which is rumoured to be a remaster and not remake, will be sold as a full-priced collection.
With a supposed release date in October this points to a current-gen -- as in PS4 and Xbox One -- release for the trilogy, mere weeks before the arrival of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Though no platforms were mentioned, that's the general assumption.
