Announced early this morning, IO Interactive has confirmed that Hitman 3 will support PlayStation VR when it launches January 2021. And when you don those future-goggles you'll be transported from behind the bald-barcoded head of Agent 47 and into his cold eyes. With the cool thing being the ability to play through the entire trilogy's missions in first-person VR.

Here's the announcement trailer, which shows exactly that.

"From the breathtaking start in a Dubai skyscraper to the final campaign mission of Hitman 3 and the dramatic conclusion to the entire trilogy, it can all be enjoyed in first-person VR," writes Travis Barbour, Communications Manager at IO Interactive. "Hitman 3 is the end of the trilogy, but it’s only the beginning when we talk about Hitman in VR. Every location from the World of Assassination trilogy can be played in VR, when you play them in Hitman 3. We’re working to finalize the specifics for how PS VR owners can enjoy Hitman in VR, and we’ll have more details to share in the months ahead."

That last bit there points to Hitman VR hitting more platforms, namely PC. Where hopefully Oculus Rift S, HTC Vive, and Valve Index support is also coming. IO also notes that 1-1 movement is coming for melee strikes (the example given was using a frying pan as Chef 47) in addition to free-movement. No doubt having to look at your target directly in the eyes before taking them out will add a new dimension to the Hitman series.

More info on this as it breaks.
