And sure, the first Xbox Game Showcase that debuted third-party games coming to Xbox Series X was stacked with trailers - but they were just that, trailers. This Friday, July 24 at 2AM AEST Microsoft is set to go big by dedicating about an hour to games in development at its first-party suite of Xbox Game Studios. Including a gameplay deep-dive for Halo Infinite.

This has been confirmed by Xbox head of marketing Aaron Greenberg, who took to Twitter to state that this Friday's stream is all "No business, devices or similar news, just games. A whole show about hour long focused on games." So far members of the Microsoft team have confirmed that Halo Infinite gameplay will make its debut at the show, most likely running on Xbox Series X hardware. The official Halo Twitter account is currently counting down the days to Friday's reveal.

As for what else we can expect (outside of Halo) that's all up in the air, but with Rare, Ninja Theory, Obsidian, Double Fine, Playground, Turn 10, The Initiative, 343 Industries, The Coalition, and more making up the first-party line-up, fans are hoping that Microsoft will be ready to debut and show them what Xbox Game Studios has been cooking up. At this stage speculation runs the entire Hype circuit - with everything from the all-but confirmed Forza Motorsport 8 to a Fable reboot showing up. Even a AAA re-imagining of Perfect Dark is reportedly in the works.

The Xbox Game Showcase will be begin at 1AM with a special pre-show hosted by Geoff Keighley, with the 1080 60fps stream to follow and then a 4K 60fps recording shortly after that. So, if staying up past 2AM is a problem, having the 4K capture ready for you when you wake-up sounds like a pretty cool consolation prize.

I believe I read recently that The Initiative will not be at this event, hence, if they are working on a Perfect Dark reboot it will not be shown.
