With both the
Samsung Odyssey G7 and G9 set to go on sale from August 3, bringing impressive 1000R curvature and QLED (VA) technology to a desktop near you. And you'll need one hell of a desktop to house the Samsung Odyssey G9, which is an impressive 49-inches wide and equivalent to two QHD (5120 x1440) displays fused together. Amazing. The Odyssey G7 might be the more sensible option for those with limited space, offering the same QHD crispness at either 27 or 32-inches and with the same 240Hz refresh rate.
Yeah, the Samsung Odyssey G9 also features a 240Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, and a peak brightness of 1000 cd/m2. It's impressive. And the range looks slick too. So good in fact that Samsung is happy to simply provide booty shots.
“Odyssey is a statement for Samsung’s commitment to offering gamers with the pinnacle of our capability in innovation, design, and experiences. The new range builds on Samsung’s growing curved display portfolio and collaboration with gamers to push the boundaries for gaming experiences,” said Jeremy Senior, Head of Consumer Electronics, Samsung Electronics Australia. “The demands of gamers are more complex and refined than ever before, between the monitor and the PC, gamers are seeking precision and control as well a beautiful design for their set up."
Oh, and the Odyssey range features both G-Sync & AMD Freesync compatibility. Local pricing is as follows:
Odyssey G7 27-inch $999 and 32-inch $1,099 AUD
Odyssey G9 49-inch $2,799 AUD
