Having previously worked on 2017's LA Noire: The VR Case Files for PC and PSVR, the Sydney-based Video Game Deluxe has updated its LinkedIn profile to note "having finished the critically well received L.A. Noire: The V.R. Case Files we are now gearing up for a new project, a AAA open world title in VR for Rockstar".

With the small studio founded by Team Bondi creative director Brendan McNamara, it brings with it a long history of working with Rockstar. Also, a long history of controversy that stemmed from this 2011 IGN report detailing the troubled working conditions at the Sydney studio and several delays that led to L.A. Noire's original release.

According to reports Video Game Deluxe is still relatively small - but is currently looking to hire a number of people ranging from senior programmers, engine programmers, designers and animators. If the Syndey-developed title is to be AAA VR experience ala something like Half-Life: Alyx or the brilliant Phantom: Covert Ops, then no doubt this will become a huge undertaking for the studio.

And "open world title in VR for Rockstar" just screams potential. All you need to do is add VR - GTA: VR, Red Dead Redemption: VR, Max Payne: VR.
