Where Square Enix and development studio People Can Fly revealed more info on it's upcomnig third-person action-RPG shooter Outriders in a new 10-minute gameplay-filled development update.
From towns and hubs to more level-based but still big combat areas to explore, to side-quests, and and your mobile vehicle hub, and more - this is a good look at what to expect when the game launches later this year.
OUTRIDERS is a massive experience, not just in terms of the hours of gameplay it will offer, but in how far you travel in the course of the game’s dark sci-fi story. The campaign will take you on an epic journey across Enoch, a savage world where everything has mysteriously hyper-evolved to wipe Humanity from the face of the planet. From the lives and secrets within the Human colony, to the mysterious jungles and unforgiving deserts, you will explore the far reaches of the frontiers, gain incredible powers, and make discoveries that will change everything.
Based on all that we see, it certainly looks a little bit like Destiny meets Gears of War (People Can Fly were behind the underrated Gears of War: Judgment), and in terms of combinations that's definitely a mix that should work.
Alongside the deep dive we also got confirmation that Fallout composer Inon Zur is handling soundtrack duties on this one - which is very cool. Outriders is on track for release later this year for PS4, Xbox One, PC - in addition to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. As the game still doesn't have an exact release date there's a good chance this will be a next-gen launch title.
