The 20th anniversary of Blizzard's Diablo II is happening right now, with the iconic action-RPG first released on June 29, 2000. To celebrate the milestone, staff across Blizzard are sharing their thoughts on the game and what it means to them -- including a heartfelt note from newly appointed Diablo Head of Franchise Rod Fergusson. Plus, a new Carbot Studios animation, and what is a truly impressive limited-edition Lord of Terror bust.
I mean, take a look.
Yeah, it's epic -- and available now for pre-order at the Blizzard Gear Store.
For those thinking back to the time you played nothing but Diablo II as the world dealt with the fallout from Y2K then Baal Runz 101, the latested Carbot animation, might bring back a few Battle.net memories.
Also, streamer MrLlamaSC is currently in the middle of a day-long speedrun through Diablo II, and for those that log into Diablo III from today -- you'll earn some new Prime Evil Wings modelled after Baal.
And finally, although it hasn't been announced there are several sources claiming that a Diablo II remaster is currently in development at Blizzard and on track for release later this year. So yeah, here's to 20 more.
