Billed as a "Narrative Trailer" with the added 'not actual gameplay' tag, we'll have to wait a bit more before we get to see what missions and driving looks like in this ambitious remake of the 2002 original. But, this new trailer for 2K's Mafia: Definitive Edition shows what we assume are in-engine cinematics - highlighting many of the original's iconic sequences in truly impressive detail.

Check it out.

Developed by Hangar 13, the team behind Mafia III, this remake is said to be running on the same engine that powered that 1960s-set open world crime saga. The team is carefully remaking and recreating all of the major plot-points from the 2002 classic with new animation, voice work, and detail. And yes, this includes the notorious race car sequence. Mafia: Definitive Edition is coming to PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 on August 28.
