filing its marketing and financial plans for the years ahead. For the fiscal year ending March 31 2024 the company is planning to spend at least $89 million USD in marketing, a figure doubling the amount listed for the year before and the one straight after.
And nine times the spend for 2021. The sudden spike in spending begins to make sense if you add the words Grand Theft Auto 6 into the picture - which will no dount be the biggest release of whatever year it drops. And based on this spike, the current plan might just be sometime in 2023 for the next GTA.
Before you cry out "What? This isn't news!", it's worth noting that a similar filing accurately predicted Red Dead Redemption 2's release window. 2023 makes sense for Grand Theft Auto 6 too, with development rumoured to be progressing slowly but steadily. Naturally, Rockstar is one of those it'll be ready when it's ready studios so 2023 might just be the earliest window for the next GTA.
And by the time it rolls up the PS5 and Xbox Series X generation will be well underway.
