With the first Xbox 20/20 happening this Friday, where a number of third-party next-gen games are set to be revealed as part of the latest Inside Xbox. With the stream set to commence at 1am you can be sure that we'll be there (in our underpants) ready to report on the first-look at Assassin's Creed Valhalla gameplay and other surprises.

Also, this Series X boot-up sound is... *chef's kiss*.

For the Xbox 20/20 May update, we will focus on giving you a first look at next-gen gameplay, trailers and sneak peeks from a wide variety of publishing partners and independent developers across the globe and industry, including Ubisoft’s recently announced Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and hear from game creators about what they’re doing with their games on Xbox Series X.

And all the games you’ll see will be Xbox Series X Optimised, meaning they are built to take advantage of the powerful Xbox Series X features that make games look and feel incredible, including 4K resolution at up to 120 frames per second, DirectStorage, hardware-accelerated DirectX raytracing, super-fast load times and much more.

Interestingly, some or more of the third-party titles set to be shown this week will support the new Smart Delivery feature of Xbox hardware - meaning that a single purchase will result in playing a game on an Xbox One or in enhanced next-gen-o-vision on Xbox Series X. And all without the need to purchase a different version or special add-on. Very cool. In terms of Smart Delivery we already know that Cyberpunk 2077 will support the feature - so it's already a success. As for hardware ray-tracing it'll be interesting to see what games might feature the tech.

This is only the opening salvo too, with Xbox 20/20 events scheduled to occur between now and the release of the Xbox Series X console this holiday season. The July event will focus on first-party releases - which puts into question what exactly is happening in June. Without E3, Microsoft has confirmed that it will still put on its digital showcase so we can assume that this will be the time for release date, pricing, and launch info.

As for 2020 and Microsoft's plans the company has also re-affirmed that the Xbox Series X is still on track for a Holiday launch, alongside the highly anticipated Halo Infinite. That and all 15 Xbox Game Studios are working on Series X and Xbox Game Pass titles.

And with all this Series X talk, PC is still very much in the picture with all games headed to Xbox Game Pass for PC including Halo Infinite, Wasteland 3, Minecraft Dungeons, and Microsoft Flight Simulator. Plus, new still-to-be-announced stuff too.
