This Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 remaster only covers the campaign portion of the game with developer Beenox giving the original 2009 Infinity Ward release a high-def makeover.

As to why this remaster doesn't feature multiplayer, that comes down to focusing on the current Call of Duty release, Modern Warfare, which has been getting a steady stream of classic maps.

Rather than release a separate, multiplayer experience as a standalone pack, Activision and Infinity Ward are looking to bring more classic map experiences to new life within the Modern Warfare universe as it continues to grow and build over time.
