With Larian Studios, the talented team behind Divinity: Original Sin 2 hard at work on Baldur's Gate 3 - comes word that the game will be hitting Early Access on Steam sometime later this year. Which follows what we've seen with Larian Studios’ previous titles. The first gameplay footage for Baldur’s Gate 3 is set to debut at PAX East later this week too.
So in the meantime, here's the cinematic teaser from the announcement in June of 2019.
As per the team's efforts with the Divinity series and the BioWare originals, Baldur's Gate 3 will focus heavily on player freedom, meaningful choices, and a cast of memorable companions. In addition to the deep combat one expects from a D&D release. Interestingly Baldur's Gate 3 is set in and will feature Dungeons & Dragons’ 5th edition mechanics, which puts the events at least 100 years after Baldur's Gate 2's 2nd edition setting.
Wizard of the Coast's parent company Hasbro has seven D&D games in active development with Baldur's Gate 2 and Baldure's Gate: Dark Alliance announced so far.
