This will always be one of those "we wish it were true" stories,
EA working on something
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic related - one of the most beloved RPGs of all time. According to
Cinelinx (which accurately reported on the Obi-Wan TV series before its announcement) comes word that EA and
Disney are rebooting or remaking KOTOR.
Citing sources close to the project, which is apparently in active development this Knights of the Old Republic remake "would integrate elements from the first two games in order to bring certain things into the current Star Wars canon". So, a remake that would go over the story to ensure it fits into the new canon.
Last year,
Lucasfilm's Kathleen Kennedy said that when it came to KOTOR "we are developing something to look at", confirming that Disney were interested in bringing the series back in some way - potentially as a film or TV series. Naturally, that was all speculation and the project since that time could have easily been passed over. Or, become this new game project from EA. If it's real. Again, we're hoping it is.
The report cites two independent sources saying that a Knights of the Old Republic game is in the works - which would be a pretty massive endeavour for whatever studio takes it on. With BioWare currently working on the next Dragon Age this project could end up at a different studio.
