For those that have set-up a high-end stereo system or surround sound speakers for a home theatre no doubt you've heard of JBL. When it comes to audio it's a brand that has been releasing great speakers and headphones and other bits of kit for years. With the new JBL Quantum Range it's about to enter the realm we all know of as gaming.

With a suite of headsets in the new JBL Quantum Range and a pair of stereo speakers designed for PC gaming called the JBL Quantum DUO speaker system. With the sheer number of headsets available to purchase today, it's good to see that JBL are also bringing a dedicated PC speaker to market. As per the info we were given at CES 2020 - in addition to Dolby Digital powered sound you get support for PC and consoles, full control over lighting effects, and support for audio-in and USB for multiple devices. So yeah, the DUO is one we're keen to see and hear more of.


As for the JBL Quantum Range of gaming headsets the company is introducing a staggering seven different models ranging from wired to wireless, entry-level to professional. Pricing ranges from $39.95 USD all the way up to $299.95 USD. The four higher end models - the JBL Quantum 300, JBL Quantum 400, JBL Quantum 600 and JBL Quantum 800 - are set to feature the JBL QuantumSURROUND powered by dedicated JBL QuantumENGINE PC software. The flagship, high-end model, the JBL Quantum ONE (pictured above) is expected to take all of this one step further with full-3D sound integration driven by software and head-tracking sensors. It's the sort of tech that will drive the future of gaming audio.

According to JBL and HARMAN these audio products have all been in the works for quite sometime - and looking at the specs and images and units at CES 2020 it's not hard to see all of the engineering that has gone into the range. The two premium models, the Quantum 800 and Quantum ONE also feature Active Noise Cancellation - a rarity in gaming headsets.
