And look, we take our Bat-News pretty seriously at this Bat-Gaming Channel.
Honestly though, we do.
Personally, as an expert in the
Batman: Arkham series of games (especially where combat is concerned), this is both welcome and yet trepidatious as far as rumours go.
That's largely because the suggested studio behind this --
WB Montreal -- didn't quite hit the mark with
Batman: Arkham Origins. Combat wasn't as precise, AI was cheap and those boss battles were... well, a
joke; a design
riddle... a
bane.
Sorry (not sorry).
The rumours come by way of
Twitter handle Sabi who
PC Gamer notes has had a number of 'rumours' come true in the past. The reality is, some of these accounts are mildly managed by publishers as a way to feed rumours into the hype swell that needs to start
somewhere.
The rumour suggests the game will include playable sections throughout as all members of the "Bat-Family" which, while offering up a diversity idea where gameplay is concerned, sort of belies the solitary, staunch stature of
Batman on the whole. Especially where the Arkham series of games is concerned.
A lot of questions arise as well:
Would we be able to play as Batwoman given
Remedy already detailed
The Killing Joke maiming of her at the hands of
Joker? Would we play as
Dick Grayson as
Nightwing? And then would we play as
Jason Todd before he's kidnapped and tortured by Joker? Or would it be as current
Tim Drake? Maybe as
Damian? And how would Bats fit into all of this?
Maybe I just Batman too much, but the mind is swirling with what
could be in this suggested scenario.
Lend us your thoughts...
