The Open Beta for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare begins this weekend on PlayStation 4, with early access later this week for those who pre-ordered. Where it gets interesting is that next weekend full crossplay is coming to the Open Beta when Xbox One and PC (via Battle.net) are added.

The Open Beta will give players access to the 2v2 Gunfight mode, traditional 6v6 COD multiplayer, and the larger player count modes. With the new graphics engine and physics like bullet penetration this is a very different Call of Duty. One that we fell in love with during a recent hands-on preview.

Dates as follows.

Weekend 1 (PlayStation 4)
    September 13-14 - Early Access
    September 15-16 - Open Beta

Weekend 2 (PS4, Xbox One, PC)
    September 20-22 - Early Access
    September 22-23 - Open Beta
