Although the isometric perspective might conjur up the idea of Darksiders meets Diablo, apparently Darksiders Genesis is more action and platform puzzle based than it is action-RPG. That said, we're still excited to check this one out as huge fans of developer Airship Syndicate's debut title Battle Chasers: Nightwar.

And the studio is headed up by ex-Vigil talent, the studio that created the first two excellent Darksiders games. In Darksiders Genesis you can play as either War or Strife (making his Darksiders debut) with the events depicted presenting a prequel of sorts as Lucifer is still in the plotting stage of his master - and evil - plan.

Darksiders Genesis is an action/adventure that tears its way through hordes of demons, angels, and everything in-between on its way to Hell and back with guns blazing and swords swinging. Genesis gives players their first look at the world of Darksiders before the events of the original game, as well as introduces the horseman Strife.

Playable solo or in co-op, Darksiders Genesis is out later this year for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. And unlike Darksiders 3, you can your horse.
