With the team behind
Call of Duty: WWII set to open a new studio in Australia. Pretty massive news for the local industry to be sure. The announcement came when local developer Alayna Cole posted
on Twitter that she was the first official hire for
Sledgehammer Games Melbourne, and will begin in her new role as producer on Monday.
As to what role the studio will play in the continued development of the Call of Duty franchise, or perhaps new projects both related and unrelated, we'll have to wait and see. Perhaps when the official press release from
Activision Blizzard comes we'll find out a bit more.
In the meantime there are five open vacancies in the Melbourne studio currently listed on the Sledgehammer Games
jobs page.
