With the slice of footage taken from Act 2 of the story, there are definite spoilers - so fair warning. That said, it offers a look at some of the differences this time around - most of which are tied to the whole spoiler thing. That said Gears 5 still retains the look and feel of a Gears of War title with third-person cover-based shooting being front and centre.
Check it out.
Yeah, so spoiler-wise we get to see a new mechanic of Kait being able to control enemies via some sort of hive-mind link. Very cool.
Out September 6 for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, or September 10 at retail Gears 5 continues the story laid out in Gears of War 4 with the campaign switching perspective to Kait. Technically it looks impressive, with a solid 60 fps presentation and excellent detail. Locations in Gears 5, although not fully open-world will be larger offering more in the way of exploration too. Plus, being Gears, plenty of the old ultra violence.
