As far as innovative, fun arcade experiences go, the Super Monkey Ball series is hard to look past. The tiny disk rarely ever left my GameCube back in the day, and while its premise might have seemed perfect for waggle with the Wii controller, we couldn't be happier to be looking forward to gyroless control options to help Aiai and co get their bananas back, or something.

SEGA today announced that come October 29 a HD re-release for Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz would be coming for PS4, Switch and Xbox One:
Originally released for the Nintendo Wii in 2006, Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD brings all the fun and chaos of the Monkey Ball series to modern consoles. Complete with updated graphics, optimised control schemes for each platform, a brand-new mini-game “Decathalon” mode where you complete a set of 10 mini-games in a row and online leader boards, Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD is perfect for new fans of any age, as well as the most seasoned Monkey Ball series veterans.
The local jokers taking care of the game have let us know it'll set you back 59.99 bananas and also shared a trailer with us, but we warn you -- this comes with... very little. But trust us, if you've never played the series before, it's worth every banana you spend.
