The crowdfunded Psychonauts 2 from newly acquired Xbox Game Studio Double Fine has just been delayed to 2020. Which is becoming the norm for bigger crowdfunded productions - as Psychonauts 2 was originally on track for a 2018 release before being pushed back to sometime this year. No sweat though, as it's all about creating a better game.

As highlighted by this announcement covering the game's recent E3 showing.
We're now targeting next year for release. We know it's always disappointing when you have to wait a bit longer, but we also know that you are an amazing, supportive bunch, who--just like us --want the game to be as good as possible. So we're hopeful you'll understand.

Although Double Fine now has the financial security of being part of the Xbox family, it still plans to bring the game to PlayStation 4 in addition to PC and Xbox One. Perhaps the extra time comes from the ability to spend more on polishing the highly anticipated sequel, which is something we can certainly get behind.

Here's a very nice little update video covering the game and Double Fine's E3.

With the full support from Microsoft they are most likely adding a lot of polish to the game which is a good thing
