Cuphead the videogame is a challenging side-scrolling boss rush meets platformer that lovingly presents a world that is reminiscent of 1930s cartoons. And now thanks to
Netflix, Cuphead is set to become just that with an animated series currently in production.
It's called The Cuphead Show and will be "an original series inspired by classic animation styles of the 1930s" starring the titular Cuphead and his brother Mugman.
The series will be produced by Netflix Animation, with Emmy and Annie award winner Dave Wasson (Mickey Mouse Shorts) and Cosmo Segurson (Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling) serving as executive producers alongside creators Chad and Jared Moldenhauer of Studio MDHR. It's expected that the animated series will follow in the footsteps
of the game and see its two stars make a deal with the Devil and then have to, well, deal with the consequences.
Cuphead is definitely a property that feels tailor-made for adaptation, especially in terms of look and feel.
