With many millions of players the fact that Warframe just got a brand new cinematic introduction might surprise you. But not once you factor in the sheer size and scope of the universe. Add in direction by Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane, Black Mirror: Playtest, The Boys, Uncharted) and it sets the scene in style. With flashbacks to a time when the original Warframes rebelled against their Orokin masters.

Check it out.

The video was produced to bring some narrative context to the Warframe universe, and if nothing else it's basically Exhibit A as to why a movie set in the Warframe universe would totally work. The cinematic made its debut as part of TennoCon 2019, where we also got an extended look at the Empyrean update and a sneak peek at the new open-world expansion coming in the future.
