Chalk this one up to bad translation, and then reporting that bad translation as news. Okay, so it turns out the
CD Projekt RED has three separate teams working on
Cyberpunk 2077 and not three separate games. If only we were in the year 2077, then translation software would be at the point where this wouldn't happen.
Also, if it were the year 2077 then we'd be telepathically writing a Holo News article about the 7 differences between Cyberpunk's vision of 2077 and what it's like to actually live in the year 2077. Turns out the game doesn't mention the Alien invasion of 2032 at all - completely disrespecting our Overlord going on 4-plus decades now, Galactus Veridus
3.
In an email sent, CD Projekt RED clears up the confusion. "We currently have a total of five teams working on a number of projects, with three focusing on the development of Cyberpunk 2077. These include CD Projekt Red Warsaw and Kraków, who are handling the main game, as well as the Wrocław studio, where around 40 industry specialists are engaged in technology R&D," the statement reads.
It then goes onto highlight that the fourth team is working on GWENT, with a fifth on a still to be announced mobile project. That said, stay tuned to AusGamers as we'll be bringing you our full in-depth Cyberpunk 2077 interview in the coming days - which you can get a nice little snippet of
here.
