From the team behind Darksiders III, Remnant: From the Ashes is also set in a post-apocalyptic world (one beset by something called the Root) and is more in-line with the shooting and action-RPG style of Destiny than it is the action-adventure of the Darksiders series. It's out soon too with a planned August 20 release date across PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

The latest video highlighting one of the in-game locations, we get to see the hub world and human refuge of Ward 13.

In Remnant: From the Ashes, interdimensional beings known as the Root have decimated humanity, leaving the world ravaged by the invasion. As a survivor seeking to reclaim Earth from monsters, players must venture beyond the World Stone, a relic enabling travel between worlds. Traverse bizarre and beautiful dynamically-generated environments filled with unpredictable enemies, potential allies and untold secrets. Each journey beyond humanity’s stronghold will challenge players at every turn, forcing them to learn through victory and defeat as they amass an arsenal of weapons, armor and mods to create the ultimate survivor.

To compliment Ward 13's very industrial look, there's also a glimpse at another hug location - the ethereal Labyrinth. Which is described as "a boundless dimension and physical connection between planes of existence". But, with the game out so soon - like us - you're probably wondering about gameplay. And how does it all look in motion. Well for that we have the following hour-long E# gameplat presentation that highlights the third-person shooting and general progression.

It definitely looks different enough - and although we weren't all that impressed with Gunfire Games' Darksiders III, we're still keen to give this one a go.
