The developer behind the upcoming Psychonauts 2 has been acquired by Microsoft. In a new video, studio head Tim Schafer notes that the game will still be coming to all platforms as previously announced, alongside Bandai Namco still publishing it's other announced title Rad. This follows in the footsteps of all recent acquisitions by Microsoft with new members of the Xbox Game Studios family allowed to continue and complete in-progress projects before switching to focus on the Xbox, Game Pass, and PC platforms.

Double Fine is known for Psychonauts, Brutal Legend, Broken Age and other titles. Here's hoping the recent re-masters the studio did for classic LucasArts adventures Grim Fandango, Day of the Tentacle, and Full Throttle make it to Xbox Game Pass on PC and Console.

Xbox Game Studios is now comprised of 15 separate development studios, including a brand new PC division called Age of Empires that will focus on the classic PC franchise.
