With EA Play kicking off overnight the big new game reveal was for Respawn's Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order - where a 15 minutes of pre-alpha footage showcases a Rebel mission on the Wookiee home-world of Kashyyyk. And we get to see Padawan Jedi Cal Kestis showcase a wide-range of Force powers alongside Titanfall-like wall running abilities.

Which makes sense when you factor in that Cal can Force push giant metallic structures, block Blaster fire with his Lightsaber, and double jump in mid-air. Check it out.

Set in-between the events of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, the game focuses on the early days of the Rebellion and the aftermath of the Empire hunting down and killing all of the Jedi. The demo takes place around 3 hours into the single-player campaign which already sees Cal showcasing quite a few abilities as a Jedi. Cal is accompanied by BD-1, his trusty and very agile Buddy Droid that can open doors and even heal him when his health is low. Definite Star Wars: The Force Unleashed vibes too, especially during the combat sequences. Oh, and it's cool to see Rogue One‘s Saw Gerrera (Forest Whitaker) make an appearance too.

We also get to see Cal face-off against Inquisitor Second Sister who don special armour and wield an energy based weapon. According to reports combat in these duels will take on a more From Software approach will parrying, whittling down shields, and the ability to pull off finishers at the right time.

Visually it looks very solid so far too, although some of the animation on the Stormtroopers looks a little stiff. With a few months of polish left though it's great to see that a single-player story-driven Star Wars game is only months away from release. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is out November 15.
