After last Season's massive buff and overhaul to many of Diablo 3's sets and items, this Season sees the introduction of new Torment difficulty levels in the form of Torments 14-16. Plus, a Seasonal Buff for all players that applies the Legacy of Nightmares "no set item" bonus by default. Like last Season's Royal Ring buff it will no doubt lead to so some pretty fun builds.

The Legacy of Nightmares set bonus means that for every non-set item that's Ancient (i.e. rare) overall damage is increased. As this ring set got a buff last Season, being able to wear other rings will no doubt open up the damage possibilities - even without traditional set items.

As always rewards will be available for those that complete the Season Journey - with Season 17 including the creepy Wickerman pet and a pair of Galactic Wings.

Here's an overview of the key updates of Patch 2.6.5.
  • Torment 14, 15, and 16 have been added to the game
  • Reward and difficulty levels of all new Torments closely match Greater Rift 65, 70, and 75 respectively
  • Portals left behind by Treasure Goblins may occasionally lead somewhere udderly ridiculous
  • Using an Ancient or Primal Puzzle Ring in Kanai’s Cube will produce a new result
  • Party portraits now display if a player’s Cheat Death buff has been recently used (PC Only)
  • When a boss is killed in a Nephalem Rift, a permanent ping will mark the location of the boss’ death until the Rift is closed
  • The Boss Notification screen has received a rework (PC Only)
  • The Greater Rift Notification screen has received a rework (PC Only)
  • The Greater Rift Completion screen has received a rework (PC Only)
  • Matchmaking no longer prevents players from joining a game while a Greater Rift is already in progress
  • Players who join the game will still be unable to join a Greater Rift in progress
  • The progress bar for a Greater Rift is now visible to all players in the game, regardless of whether they are participating in the Rift or not
  • The amount of Death's Breath rewarded by completing a Challenge Rift has been increased

  • A few sets and items have been given a buff too as per feedback from the last Season and the PTR-preview. Plus some long overdue Quality of Life updates like being able to search your stash for items by keyword. For full Patch Notes - head here.
