In development by no way means in production or a sure thing, but Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy recently told MTV during an interview that when it comes to BioWare's classic RPG Knights of the Old Republic "we talk about that all the time" and that "we are developing something to look at". Which if true, could potentially be amazing as the KOTOR story would be perfect for a new film trilogy separate to the main Star Wars Episodes.
Seeing HK-47 on a big screen calling people "meatbags" would be, well, a dream come true. Here's the interview clip which gets into the KOTOR question around halfway through - where Kathleen Kennedy also points out she's unsure where the Knights of the Old Republic project might end up.
With Lusacfilm bringing its Madalorian TV series to the Disney+ platform, based on the sheer size and scope of the Knights of the Old Republic it's something that could also work as a series. Either way, it's great to hear that Lucasfilm is not only looking into Knights of the Old Republic as a potential story to adapt but also working on it.
