When it comes to the Halo series talks of a cinematic adaptation or live-action series have existed for a while now, with cable network Showtime recently ordering a 10-episode first season. Which it describes as "an epic 26th-century conflict between humanity and an alien threat known as the Covenant". And now we know that the story will focus primarily on the Master Chief.
With Pablo Schreiber (American Gods, Orange Is the New Black, The Wire), pictured above, donning the iconic helmet and presumably taking it off from time to time. If the series keeps in line with the games then perhaps Master Chief will remain suited up. In other casting news Australian Yerin Ha is set to play a new character created for the show called Quan Ah, who is described as a "shrewd, audacious 16-year-old from the Outer Colonies who meets Master Chief at a fateful time for them both."
Which hints at a story that will be more character driven in addition to providing the big set pieces fans will no doubt be wanting to see. Like with Netflix and its series based on
The Witcher, production for the Halo TV series will take place later this year in Hungary - with Showtime noting that it is the platform's most ambitious series ever.
