This year marks the 25th anniversary of what's considered by many as the first-person shooter that defined the genre (no offense to id Software's own Wolfenstein 3D) - Doom. With DOOM Eternal's reveal at last year's event, and what we expect to be a presence at both E3 and QuakeCon - QuakeCon 2019 is set to rip and tear with a celebration of all things Doom.

To commemorate DOOM’s 25th anniversary, our four-day event will include all-new DOOM-inspired activities, events, exclusives, developer panels, hands-on demos, new information about DOOM Eternal, and a few surprises we aren’t quite ready to talk about – all while continuing to feature everything you already love about QuakeCon. That’s right… you’ll still get Quake tournaments, exhibits, panels, updates on all the latest games from Bethesda – and, of course, a massive, round-the-clock LAN Party unlike any other.

As one of the biggest BYOC LAN parties in the world, pairing this with a look at the past, present, and future of Doom sounds perfect. Rumours and speculation are pointing to a 2019 release for the game - which if true, will probably get a reveal here alongside extended hands-on opportunities for attendees. Well, that's our guess anyway.

The official QuakeCon 2019 page is now live - with registration happening next week. Head here for the full details.
