Store pages for the mysterious Valve Index appeared last week on Steam before being taken down, pointing to a SteamVR headset coming directly from Valve. Since that time Valve's Doug Lombardi told
The Verge that "The tech info on that page, while not comprehensive, is accurate."
With pre-orders and a potential reveal happening May 1 with a release date of June 15 - and will ship with Valve Index Controllers that are based on the previous "Knuckles" controllers seen in the past.

It's expected that each item will be sold separately in addition to being bundled. Now, there are rumours that Valve Index will launch alongside a Half Life prequel of sorts - which would be very cool. With SteamVR being one of a few platform on PC for VR it makes sense for Valve to launch its own headset now as hardware prices drop.
