And that's Star Wars Battlefront II from LucasArts and Pandeminc Studios, released for the original Xbox in 2005. It's arrival to Game with Gold next month marks the continues trend of classic Star Wars games going free for Gold members - in what's been quite the treat for Star Wars fans.
On the Xbox One front the theme remains sci-fi with The Technomancer up for grabs, and the classic remake Outcast: Second Contact. Rounding out the backwards compatibility list is Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2.
The Technomancer: Available April 1 to 30 on Xbox One
Outcast: Second Contact: Available April 16 to May 15 on Xbox One
Star Wars Battlefront II: Available April 1 to 15 on Xbox One and Xbox 360
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2: Available April 16 to 31 on Xbox One and Xbox 360
We reviewed The Technomancer back in 2016 when it was originally released, and found it to be fun but overly ambitious take on creating a classic BioWare-style RPG experience. Also you can read our review of Outcast: Second Contact where we were impressed with the remake, calling it "an impressively realised world filled with character, moments of sheer triumph, and charm."
As for Star Wars Battlefront II, well, it's going to be quite the thing to go back and play this on a modern console.
