Normally we steer clear of mobile news, but when it surrounds more hardcore, core experiences, especially if you might not have experienced that yet, well, we can't look away. In this instance, Airship Syndicate's Battle Chasers: Nightwar, which we rated highly, is headed to mobile devices.
Airship Syndicate is, of course, made up of a number of ex-Vigil devs, headed up by comic book legend Joe Maduriera who has published a number (not enough) of Battle Chasers comics in the past.
After being released on PC, Mac, and consoles, the game will now be recreated for a mobile experience and will be released on Android and iOS as a 9,99 $ / 8,99£ premium game without any in-app purchases, ads or gambling (roughly AUD$16.00)
The six heroes around fearless Gully who is on a quest to find her lost father will explore a vast world filled with dangerous enemies, hidden secrets and randomly generated dungeons. The heroes will get stronger with every defeated foe and every solved quest and gain access to powerful attacks, they can use in the turn-based encounters and boss fights. With quite demanding battles, it is up to the player to find the ideal selection of heroes that offers the best possible synergy and combat prowess.” Ancient War Golem Calibretto for example wrecks the enemies' armor with his "Gut Punch" ability and Swordman Garrison's "Rupture" strike will then cause a bleeding effect - using these synergies is key to victory.
The game blends Eastern JRPG-style design with Western art and other gameplay, making it a fantastic experience. Further, as a mobile on-the-go type of game, the mobile platform actually suits this perfectly.
"This Summer" means soon-ish for Aussies, but as usual, once a firm release date is revealed, we'll let you know. In the meantime, you can also play the game on the platforms mentioned above.
